GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) - A Gadsden woman has been charged with reckless homicide in the death of her 6-week-old baby.

News outlets report that 22-year-old Autumn V. Gray was charged following the Tuesday death of the infant.

Gadsden police were called to a home Tuesday, where they say they found the baby unresponsive. The infant was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gadsden Police Sgt. John Hallman says Gray was arrested and charged after detectives interviewed witnesses.

The child’s body has been taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for autopsy. The cause of death and the identity of the child have not been released.
