SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (AP) - Los Angeles County sheriff’s narcotics investigators have seized nearly 2,500 marijuana plants at a Canyon Country strip mall.

The Sheriff’s Department says a search warrant served Wednesday revealed an elaborate indoor marijuana growing system occupying several of the strip mall’s units.

In addition to the plants, investigators seized 200 pounds of dried marijuana buds and 50 pounds of THC-infused products such as cookies. The department says it all has a street value of more than $6 million.

One of three men detained at the scene was arrested for investigation of possessing marijuana for sale.

The growing operation included carbon filters and air conditioning systems to conceal the odor.

A citizen report of suspicious activity led to the investigation.
