UTICA, N.Y. (AP) - A 24-year-old upstate New York woman has pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter for running a teenager over with her car, killing him.

Sarah Buswell told Oneida (oh-NY’-duh) County Court Judge Michael Dwyer on Wednesday that she followed 18-year-old Ammar Williams on Christmas Eve in 2015 and ran him over. Police say Buswell chased Williams into a backyard in Utica (YOO’-tih-kuh) and drove over a fence he was climbing.

The Holland Patent woman didn’t explain why she was following the teen or what her relationship was with him.

Utica police previously told the Utica Observer-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/2e7ksOk ) that Buswell had given Williams $100 for marijuana but he never came back with the drug.

Buswell is expected to get a 17-year prison sentence when she appears in court on Dec. 21.
