YORK, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a Facebook feud over a woman led to a shooting in York this summer, with one of the men killing the other in self-defense.

The Herald of Rock Hill (https://bit.ly/2ds9BKS ) reports that 24-year-old Christopher Gore was sitting on a friend’s porch Aug. 15 when 28-year-old Antonio Nichols tried to gun him down. York police Lt. Rich Caddell says Nichols shot Gore in the midsection before Gore fired back, fatally wounding Nichols.

Police say the two had been involved in a Facebook argument that included profanity, racial epithets and threats.

Police officially closed the case Wednesday with no charges against Gore, who they determined shot Nichols in self-defense.
