PHOENIX (AP) - The commission that nominates judicial candidates for the Maricopa County Superior Court is recommending eight people for a vacancy.

The Maricopa County Commission on Trial Court Appointments announced the nominees Thursday whose names would be submitted to the governor.

They include five attorneys and three court commissioners.

Gov. Doug Ducey will make the final decision.

The nominees are vying for an opening left by the retirement of Judge Kristin Hoffman.
