AMES, Iowa (AP) - Police say a man has died following an early morning shooting in Ames.
Des Moines television station KCCI reports (https://bit.ly/2dVFb4v ) that police received a report of a shooting at 6:03 a.m. Friday. When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to his head. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say witnesses at the home at the time of the shooting described it as an accident.
The name of the man is being withheld pending notification of family members.
Police continue to investigate. No arrests have been reported.
