NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Police are investigating a triple shooting that left one man dead and two others, including a 6-month-old child injured.

Local media outlets report that New Orleans police say the shooting happened Thursday night in Algiers. The infant and two men were shot inside a vehicle.

One of the men died at the scene.

NOPD Superintendent Michael Harrison says the infant was taken to the hospital and was in surgery “fighting for their life.”

He says the other victim was believed to be in stable condition.

Investigators say the three victims were inside the car when at least one person approached and began firing.

Harrison says police are still trying to determine the relationships among the three victims.
