MONTVILLE, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a New Jersey police officer was driving drunk while on duty.

Morris County prosecutors say Montville officer Kurt Geisinger was suspended with pay after being charged on Friday.

Authorities say Geisinger was driving an unmarked patrol car at the time but apparently did not have any interaction with the public and was not involved in a crash. But they would not provide further details about what led to the arrest.

A telephone number for Geisinger could not be located Saturday.
