WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - The West Columbia Police Department and Medicine Mart Pharmacy are hosting collections to mark Drug Take-Back Day.

The event, which coincides with a national move to collect unused or outdated drugs, takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Medicine Mart at 1300 Sunset Blvd. in West Columbia.

In coordination with the event, students from the University of South Carolina’s School of Pharmacy are offering free blood pressure screening, blood glucose testing and body mass index testing. Also, students will be able to speak with children to help them understand the differences between candy and medicine.
