MILWAUKEE (AP) - Police in Milwaukee say three women are dead following a crash early Sunday that involved an Uber car.

Police say the incident happened around 2:50 a.m. Sunday when a vehicle ran a red light and struck the Uber car.

The 41-year-old Uber driver, who was not immediately identified, was taken to a hospital with what police believe are non-life threatening injuries. Two of his passengers died at the scene and a third one died at a local hospital. Police did not immediately release the names the three women.

The two occupants of the vehicle that ran the red light fled the scene on foot. Police say the crash remains under investigation.
