KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii (AP) - Big Island police have made an arrest in connection with the death of a man whose body was found alongside a highway last week.

An autopsy conducted on the body Friday determined 36-year-old Alanaokala Solomon Covington, of Kailua-Kona, died of a gunshot wound to the chest. Police had discovered Covington while acting on an anonymous tip from Oct. 16 about a possible killing.

The suspect in Covington’s death was taken into custody Saturday.

The 29-year-old Kailua-Kona man was jailed on suspicion of second-degree murder.

The case remains under investigation.
