DEMING, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico State Police say the motorcyclist who died after crashing in Deming was a law enforcement officer.
The Deming Headlight reports (https://bit.ly/2dCF6GW ) that the motorcyclist was 51-year-old Lt. Richard Cowles of the Luna County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators say he lost control on a curve around 10 p.m. Saturday and hit a median.
The impact threw Cowles from his motorcycle. He was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation.
