COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) - A third suspect in the shooting death of a 24-year-old father inside a Columbus mall earlier this year has been taken into custody.

Media outlets report that 25-year-old Terrell McFarland was arrested last week and charged with murder and others charges in connection with the death of 24-year-old Anthony Meredith.

Meredith was shopping with his 3-year-old daughter March 26 when he was shot eight times in Peachtree Mall.

An indictment says McFarland and the other two suspects - 23-year-old Tekoa Young and 18-year-old Xzavaien Jones- are all associated with the Crips street gang.

Investigators say the slaying may have been vengeance for the 2015 deadly shooting of Crips member Christopher Twitty on Nov. 21. No suspect has been charged in Twitty’s death.

It’s unclear whether McFarland has an attorney.
