FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) - Authorities say a 16-year-old Fall River youth has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in the city last summer.

The Bristol district attorney says Jayden Smith is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on murder and other charges stemming from the July 11 death of 29-year-old Jerrod Cohen.

Cohen was found shot outside his apartment building and pronounced dead at the hospital.

Because he is charged as an adult, Smith’s name has been made public. It could not immediately be determined if he has a lawyer.

Smith was identified as a suspect shortly after the shooting and has been a fugitive since. He has already been indicted on the charges.

Another 16-year-old boy has already pleaded not guilty to murder in Cohen’s death and is being held without bail.
