APEX, N.C. (AP) - A Wake County driver has been charged after he hit and killed a Cary man who was riding a bicycle last week.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol said Monday that 42-year-old Ramsey Capps, of Apex, is charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision following the death of 36-year-old Jason Markley.

News outlets report Markley was attempting to turn off of North Carolina Highway 751 in Apex on Friday morning when he was hit from behind. He died from his injuries at the scene.
