KILLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - With a drop in temperatures and an upcoming World Cup race next month, Vermont’s Killington Resort is again getting an early start to the ski and snowboard season.

Killington opens Tuesday to season pass and express card holders and to the general public on Wednesday starting at 9 a.m.

Killington started snowmaking in earnest on Oct. 10 on certain trails, including the trail where the Audi FIS World Cup will take place Nov. 26-27.

The mountain also received more than 5 inches of the real stuff on Sunday.

Skiing and riding will be on advanced terrain only, with about 600 vertical feet of open trails.

The resort will remain open to the public as conditions permit.
