PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) - Peoria police say a 15-year-old boy has been arrested in an Oct. 12 drug-related shooting in which an 18-year-old man was wounded.

Police say the 15-year-old was booked into a Maricopa County juvenile detention facility on suspicion of aggravated assault, armed robbery and other charges. The Associated Press generally does not identify juveniles accused of crimes.

According to police, the shooting occurred during a struggle after the 15-year-old pulled out a handgun and robbed the man during an agreed-upon meeting to conduct a drug transaction.

Police say the 18-year-old was shot in the chest and leg but is expected to make a full recovery, while the 15-year-old also shot himself in the wrist.

It’s not known if the 15-year-old has an attorney who could comment on the allegations.
