SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (AP) - A man who was doused with gasoline and set on fire in August has died at the Westchester Medical Center burn unit.

Schenectady (skeh-NEHK’-ta-dee) police say 59-year-old Kevin Hawkins was set on fire by his 30-year-old stepson at the family’s home after a dispute. Hawkins died Sunday night.

Andrell Leppanen remains in jail on an attempted murder charge and Schenectady County District Attorney Robert Carney says he could face a more serious charge based on autopsy results.

It could not be determined if Leppanen has an attorney to comment for him.
