LACONIA, N.H. (AP) - Police in New Hampshire say they have arrested a man accused of dragging a woman by her hair into an SUV.

Police say the dragging happened late Sunday in Laconia, and witnesses heard the woman screaming. They say the vehicle then sped away.

Officers later found the woman and talked to her. They also found the SUV in Concord with no one inside.

On Tuesday, police arrested 32-year-old James Lemmond on kidnapping and armed robbery charges.

He is jailed and scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Belknap County. It wasn’t immediately known if he had a lawyer.
