STRONG, Maine (AP) - Police in the town of Strong, Maine, say a motorist was killed when two trucks collided head-on and were then engulfed in flames.

Franklin County Sheriff Scott Nichols tells WMTW-TV (https://bit.ly/2eLEJri ) the accident occurred on Lambert Hill Road around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.

One of the drivers, an unidentified victim from Wilton, was trapped in their vehicle following the crash and died.

Police say the other driver, a Rangeley man, was driving drunk when he crossed the center line and collided with the victim’s pickup truck.

Both cars burst into flames. All passengers of the Rangeley man’s vehicle were able to escape.

The Rangeley man was charged with operating under the influence resulting in death.

Nichols says speed and alcohol contributed to the crash.
