WHAT’S AT STAKE

Boise State has been moving closer to the top-10 ranking each week. Their ultimate goal is an invitation to the College Football Playoff, but the Broncos would need to remain undefeated to garner consideration. The Cowboys are one win away from becoming bowl eligible, a major accomplishment after 2-10 last season.

KEY MATCHUP

Wyoming RB Brian Hill is second in the nation in rushing, averaging 144.3 yards per game. The Broncos are 24th in the nation in scoring defense, allowing 20.4 points game, and rank No. 42 in rushing defense, surrendering 141.3 yards a game. If Boise State stops Hill, it can throttle Wyoming’s hopes for an upset.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Boise State: RB Jeremy McNichols averages 130.7 yards rushing a game and an additional 53.1 receiving. Against BYU last week, he had 140 rushing yards and 109 receiving yards. He also has scored 16 touchdowns.

Wyoming: FS Andrew Wingard averages 10.7 tackles per game, leading the Mountain West and ranked No. 8 in the nation. He also leads the conference and ranks No. 10 in the nation in solo tackles at 6.1 per contest.

FACTS AND FIGURES

Boise State QB Brett Rypien leads the Mountain West with 2,064, yards passing per game with an average of 294.9 and 15 touchdown passes. … Rypien’s favorite receiver is Thomas Sperbeck, who became Boise State’s all-time leader in receiving yards last week with 3,139 for his career. … Wyoming is looking to win its fifth consecutive home game. The Cowboys have not won five straight home games since the 2006 and 2007 when they won six in a row. … Wyoming and Boise State are almost even with each other on offensive scoring. The Cowboys have averaged 34.4 points a game this season, and the Broncos 34.3.
