RAMSEY, N.J. (AP) - Police say a tree service company worker has died after being struck by part of a tree getting cut down in New Jersey.

Ramsey police Chief Bryan Gurney says the worker was working at a home in Ramsey on Wednesday afternoon when he was fatally struck. He was taken to a hospital in Suffern, New York, and was later declared dead.

He wasn’t immediately identified.

Officials say the man had been working with other tree service workers at the time.

Officials say the Occupational Safety and Health Administration had investigators at the scene. OSHA couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
