NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - North Charleston police have charged a 15-year-old juvenile with murder in a shooting death in a neighborhood that has seen several violent incidents in recent weeks.

Authorities tell local media outlets that 17-year-old Amarai Roper Smalls was pronounced dead at the scene Wednesday night.

The shooting occurred in a neighborhood along Interstate 26.

Last month a 23-year-old man was shot and killed on the same street. The following day a 22-year-old man was wounded in a drive-by shooting on a street nearby.
