Los Angeles police said they have a suspect in custody in the case of Wednesday morning’s destruction of Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Variety magazine reported.
The suspect, James Otis, was arrested en route to giving a speech and charged with felony vandalism, police told Variety.
A man calling himself James Otis told Deadline Hollywood Wednesday that he defaced the square in hopes of raising money for the women accusing the Republican presidential nominee of sexual misconduct.
Unveiled in 2007 and located on the 6800 block of Hollywood Boulevard, Mr. Trump’s star has been defaced on several occasions since he launched his presidential bid in June 2015.
