SALISBURY, Md. (AP) - Authorities say a man who was found dead in a house fire in Salisbury set the blaze himself.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office said Friday in a news release that 42-year-old Michael P. Webster was the sole occupant of the single-family dwelling. Firefighters found his body upon entering the home when the fire was reported Monday morning.

Officials say Webster died of smoke inhalation. Investigators say he spread flammable liquid throughout several rooms in the house and ignited the liquid with an open flame.
