MARION, S.C. (AP) - Gov. Nikki Haley is scheduled to host a special event to help Pee Dee residents affected by flooding and other destruction caused by Hurricane Matthew.

Haley is slated to be in Marion on Friday for Team South Carolina Pee Dee Day. Her office says the event serves as a one-stop where people can find out about resources available to families and businesses to aid recovery.

Representatives will be on-hand to help people register for financial assistance from FEMA, apply for disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration and learn about repairing their homes.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Marion County Administrative Building. There will also be information about applying for unemployment benefits as well as help from the Department of Social Services.
