NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A Milwaukee man has been found guilty of raping two young girls, to whom he’s related, at a motel in New Orleans three years ago.

The Times-Picayune reports (https://bit.ly/2eMVh4h) a jury convicted 55-year-old Calvin Freeman on Thursday of two counts of first-degree rape.

Authorities said the victims were ages 5 and 10 when they were sexually assaulted by Freeman, who prosecutors described as a traveling pimp, at the since-demolished Capri Motel in May 2013.

The victims’ mother told jurors she was a former prostitute who began working for Freeman when she was 13.

Freeman’s attorney Joe Rome acknowledged that his client was a pimp, but said that didn’t make Freeman a rapist.

Freeman faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison.
