LIVERPOOL, N.Y. (AP) - A central New York husband and wife have been charged with embezzling more than $3,000 from the Little League organization where they were officers.

The Onondaga County sheriff’s office says Christopher and Alisa Pezzino were arrested Thursday on charges of grand larceny and falsifying business records.

Alisa Pezzino was the president of the Liverpool Little League and Christopher Pezzino was the treasurer.

Authorities say the couple used the league’s credit card to pay for personal expenses including groceries, restaurant bills and bar tabs. The sheriff’s office says the pair also skimmed money from concession stand sales.

The Pezzinos were arraigned on the charges and released without bail. They are due back in court Dec. 14.

A message left at a phone number listed for the couple was not returned.
