NORTH BERWICK, Maine (AP) - Police in Maine say a man was killed after his car crashed into a tree in North Berwick.

It happened around 10:15 p.m. Thursday on state Route 4. The road was shut down for several hours while police investigated the crash. It has since reopened.

The victim wasn’t immediately identified.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash. They say they don’t believe alcohol was a factor.
