SHELBY, N.C. (AP) - Police say a woman and a 3-year-old boy are dead and a man has been wounded after a shooting in Shelby.
Local media reported the shooting happened shortly after 7 a.m. Thursday.
Police Chief Jeff Ledford says his investigators are trying to find the suspect. Police said there were several people in the home. Police think someone entered the home and shots were fired.
The names of the victims have not been released.
Ledford said investigators do not think the shooting was a random act.
