SHELBY, N.C. (AP) - Police in Shelby say three people face first-degree murder charges in the shooting deaths of a 22-year-old woman and a 3-year-old boy.
The Shelby Star reports (https://bit.ly/2f0jp0P) Police Chief Jeff Ledford said 27-year-old Mario Wilson, 30-year-old Morris Antonio Abraham and 22-year-old Aubre Sucato are each charged with two counts of first-degree murder. Other charges include attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.
All three were taken into custody on Friday and jailed without bond. It’s not known if they have attorneys.
Ledford said investigators believe the shootings stemmed from a robbery that turned violent after the three suspects were attempting to rob a third victim of marijuana.
Police say 3-year-old Liam Murray and 22-year-old Miranda Woods were killed Thursday. They said Jerroid Shippy was shot and remains hospitalized.
