PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A driver struck and killed a male bicyclist on the St. Johns Bridge.

Portland police says the crash happened at about 11:25 a.m. Saturday at the west end of the bridge. The male cyclist was critically injured and died at the scene.

The crash temporarily closed the bridge for several hours as police investigated.

The driver is cooperating with police.

Police say the cyclist is the 35th person to die in a traffic crash in the city this year.
