LAS VEGAS (AP) - A Henderson home school teacher is facing charges that he fondled a 10-year-old girl.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (https://bit.ly/2e8ysXL) that 43-year-old Martin Gillen was indicted this week on five felony counts including lewdness with a child under 14, kidnapping and child abuse.

Prosecutors say Gillen, who is acquainted with the victim’s family, is accused of approaching the victim near her home and then luring her to a casita on the property.

He was convicted of sexual assault with a child in 2002 and sentenced to eight years.

Gillen is free on $10,000 bail and will appear in court next month.

In the indictment, Gillen was described as a teacher with the Mormon church.

Church spokesman Eric Hawkins says Gillen was never employed by the church.
