CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) - An Iowa man already convicted of killing a person in Cedar Rapids has been found guilty of strangling a homeless woman.

Cedar Rapids television station KCRG reports (https://bit.ly/2eT8b0A ) that Travis Standlee was found guilty Friday of second-degree murder for the September 2015 death of Sharon Mead.

Cedar Rapids police say Mead’s body was found near the Coe College campus. Prosecutors have said Standlee killed Mead the day after he was released from jail, where he had been held on suspicion of strangling another homeless person, Raymond Ursino. Authorities said at the time there wasn’t enough evidence to hold Standlee.

Standlee was charged with murder in both slayings. Standlee was convicted in June of killing Ursino and is serving up to 50 years in prison for that crime.
