NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio (AP) - Authorities in northeast Ohio say a police officer shot and wounded a man who had stabbed another officer.
North Royalton police say the two officers went to a condominium community Friday night in the Cleveland suburb to serve a probate order. They say the man grabbed a knife and stabbed one officer in the face and leg.
The officer was taken to a hospital with wounds considered to be serious, but not life-threatening.
The second officer shot and wounded the man. The man was taken to a hospital. Police say his condition wasn’t available immediately.
Police are investigating and have not released the officers’ identities.
