GARDNERVILLE, Nev. (AP) - A fire in Douglas County has destroyed one home and a number of other buildings.

East Fork Fire Protection District officials say the fire, which is now contained, burned a house, a garage and three outbuildings Sunday near Gardnerville. In total the blaze burned 75 acres.

The fire threatened several other neighboring homes after jumping the river, but no other damage was reported.

U.S. 395 was closed during the firefight but has since been reopened.
