OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a 58-year-old woman has been killed after being hit while crossing a state highway in southeastern Oklahoma.

The patrol says in a preliminary report that Fitzhugh resident Donetta R. Johnston was killed late Friday on State Highway 99 in Pontotoc County.

The patrol says Johnston was walking westbound and trying to cross the highway when she was struck by a pickup that was traveling southbound.

The driver of the truck wasn’t injured.
