LISBON, Portugal (AP) - Moussa Marega’s hat trick gave Guimaraes a 3-0 win at Rio Ave in the Portuguese league on Sunday.

The Malian converted a penalty in the eighth minute, and added two more in the 67th and 81st for fifth-placed Guimaraes.

Braga moved into third place - over Sporting Lisbon - after beating Belenenses 2-1. Ricardo Horta scored both Braga goals before Tiago Caeiro pulled one back for the visitors.

Also, a late goal by Walter Gonzalez in the 82nd gave Arouca a 1-0 win over Maritimo.

On Friday, defending champion Benfica beat Pacos Ferreira 3-0 and increased its lead after its rivals stumbled. Sporting drew 0-0 at Nacional on Friday, and the Setubal-Porto game ended in the same score on Saturday.

Benfica is five points clear of Porto and Braga.
