DOVER, Del. (AP) - Dover Police say a 15-year-old boy who was hit by a car when he ran back across a road has died of his injuries.

The department said in a news release Monday that two youths were crossing Route 13 Wednesday night north of Loockerman Street from the center median. Officers say one youth darted back into traffic, possibly to retrieve something he had dropped, and was hit by a car.

Police say the youth was flown to a pediatric trauma center, where he died Friday.

The crash is under investigation.
