OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Firefighters say they have a blaze under control after it engulfed an unfinished building in Northern California.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/2erctJc ) that a residential building under construction in an area of Oakland caught fire early Monday. Firefighters evacuated more than 100 people living in homes nearby.

The fire did not spread to any other buildings.

Crews say the fire began at about 5 a.m. and was under control around 6:30 a.m.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
