ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Casino regulators in New York state are poised to approve regulations for table games at four new upstate casinos - one of the last required steps before the first of the facilities can open.
The state’s Gaming Commission is tentatively scheduled to vote on the regulations at a meeting Tuesday. The period for public comment has not yet ended, however, and it’s possible the vote could be postponed if significant comments are received before Tuesday’s meeting.
The rules must be adopted before the new casinos can open.
The first facility expected to open is Tioga Downs in the Southern Tier, which is expanding from an electronic gambling parlor into a full resort casino.
Other casino projects are under construction in Schenectady (skeh-NEHK’-ta-dee), the Catskills and the Finger Lakes.
