ROSEDALE, Md. (AP) - Baltimore County Police say a man who was hit in the head by a glass candy jar during an argument with his grandson has died.

The department said in a news release that 77-year-old Robert Harmic died Thursday. Police say he was taken to Franklin Square hospital after the incident on Sept. 10.

Officers say Harmic’s grandson, 32-year-old Phillip Misowitz, got into an argument with Harmic and Misowitz’s mother in Harmic’s home. Investigators say Misowitz picked up a glass candy jar and threw it at Harmic, hitting him in the head.

Police say Misowitz was originally charged with assault. Online court records show Misowitz was indicted on a charge of first-degree murder on Monday.

Court records do not list a lawyer for Misowitz, who is being held without bail.
