LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles police have arrested three suspects in the fatal shooting of a man witnessed by officers.

Officer Aareon Jefferson says officers on patrol in South Los Angeles received a call of a shooting in progress shortly after 2 a.m. Wednesday.

Jefferson says when the officers arrived on scene they saw a man standing on a corner hit by gunfire from a vehicle with three men inside.

The suspect vehicle sped off but crashed into a pole. Two men in the car were immediately arrested. The third suspect ran off but was eventually captured following a search involving police dogs.

The suspects’ names were not released.

Jefferson says the victim died at the scene.

Investigators haven’t identified a motive but believe the shooting may be gang-related.
