ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis authorities are seeking to identify the body of a woman pulled from the Mississippi River.

The U.S. Coast Guard was contacted about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday when someone spotted the body floating near the Poplar Street Bridge. Firefighters pulled the body from the water.

Police say there are no signs of trauma but the case is being investigated as suspicious. An autopsy is planned.
