COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Authorities are looking for two men accused of storing human remains in the garage of a vacant Colorado Springs home.

The Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/2cTILzX ) that Craig Ryan Brown and J. Timothy Brown are wanted for investigation of criminal trespass, conspiracy and abuse of a corpse.

Police had recovered the body of 52-year-old Jeffory Calvert after a neighbor reported the smell of “dead meat” coming from a garage. The Monte Vista man was determined to have drowned after being pulled from a Conejos County river over the Memorial Day weekend.

Records show Calvert’s family agreed to allow the suspects to pick up the body from the county coroner’s office so he could be cremated.

The Browns allegedly told police they were storing the body until they received payment for the cremation.
