PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - Members of the design team that is developing a new concept for one of Portland’s busiest public spaces are inviting residents to meet them and provide feedback about the redesign.

Design team WRT of Philadelphia is in Portland this week to work on design concepts for Congress Square.

The public invited to attend an open house about preliminary concepts at Think Tank Coworking on Congress Street from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday.

Congress Square is home of Congress Square Park, which has been the site of redesign efforts since a 2014 public referendum spared it from private development.

Artist Sarah Sze (ZEE) of New York City is also working on the project. She was scheduled to hold a meeting with residents on Wednesday.
