BANGOR, Maine (AP) - Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is headed to Maine.

Trump is scheduled to appear Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Cross Insurance Arena in Bangor, in Maine’s 2nd Congressional District.

Much attention has been focused on the sprawling, northern district because Maine is one of only two states to split its electoral votes and polls indicate Trump has strength among conservatives in northern Maine.

If Trump takes the 2nd District, he could win one of Maine’s four electoral votes even if he loses the statewide vote.

Trump was scheduled to come to Bangor this week, but the event was canceled. His son, Eric Trump, visited Maine on Thursday.
