LAS VEGAS (AP) - Gov. Brian Sandoval is vouching for his fellow Republican Joe Heck in a new commercial for Nevada’s competitive U.S. Senate race.

KTNV reports (https://bit.ly/2dF56yK) the new ad from the political arm of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is running in the Reno market.

It features the governor against a picturesque mountain backdrop telling viewers about Heck’s work as a doctor and a brigadier general.

Sandoval says Heck is dedicated to service and adds that he’ll be voting for him in the race.

Heck has served three terms representing a southern Nevada House district and is in a tight and expensive race against former Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto.

The winner will take retiring Democratic Sen. Harry Reid’s seat.
