PITTSFIELD, Mass. (AP) - The FBI says a reputed member of the violent Central American gang MS-13 has been captured in Pittsfield.

Federal authorities last week had offered a $20,000 reward for information that led to the arrest of 34-year-old Efrain Vasquez-Yanez.

However, following his arrest Thursday morning, the FBI said in a statement that state police developed information that Vasquez-Yanez had a connection in the Pittsfield area and no reward money will be paid out.

Vasquez-Yanez faces drug and racketeering charges.

The FBI said on its wanted poster that Vasquez-Yanez is alleged to have “homeboy” status with MS-13, meaning he has either killed or inflicted serious physical injury on a person in the name of the gang.

It could not be determined if he has a lawyer.
