LAS VEGAS (AP) - A Las Vegas man convicted of stabbing his fiance to death will serve life in prison but have a chance for parole.
A jury on Friday sentenced 53-year-old David Frostick to life but with the possibility of parole in 20 years for first-degree murder.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (https://bit.ly/2cFMUEr) that Frostick smiled and flashed a peace sign with his right hand after learning his sentence.
The sentence brings an end to case that has been in the court system for seven years with Frostick firing and suing past defense attorneys.
Prosecutors say Frostick stabbed 45-year-old Robin Lesley Jenkins 10 times with a butcher knife in her home in May 2009.
Relatives of Jenkins say they wanted Frostick to have the maximum sentence without an opportunity for parole.
